Dream Blog

To dream allows us to be able to enjoy life, but we all have to balance it between the “dream” world and reality.  Dreams are important because it allows us being able to set up goals that we hope to achieve, but it’s not good to live in the “dream.” My father is one type of person that doesn’t really see the reality and he lives in his “dream” in which he also believes that it will happen. There is nothing wrong in believing that your or my dreams will come true, but we got to face the reality as well. There are different kinds of dreams: daydreaming and the dreams that we pursue after.

Daydreaming is far away from the actual “dreams” that makes all of us want to achieve. Daydreaming is a point when there is boredom and people eventually get taken away from reality, but the good this is that it doesn’t last forever. Basically, daydreaming is entertaining the mind and allows it to be free from all the negativity. Its normal that people end up daydreaming when they are bored, but sometimes they get into trouble, such as: daydreaming during class time.

The “real” dreams are something that we wish for and lust after. In the Secret, dreams can become true if we put some energy into it and the universe would do the rest. “Your wish is my command” is the said by the Gene to Aladdin in the Secret. What this does is that the universe would try to rearrange itself to make those dreams that you really hope and would like to happen. There are few things that have to be done in order for your dreams to come true: visualization, gratitude, and work on it to make it happen. Visualization is totally different from dreaming; it’s something that we focus and we believe that particular “dream” would happen. Gratitude is very important because it prevents us from being greedy and it helps us to be grateful for the things that we have now. As to make our dreams come true, we need to work on it-not just hoping and doing nothing-and find a way to make it happen.

I would like to become a really-well-known- engineer: petroleum or aero plane engineer. That’s my dream job, but as well I would like to have an automotive business: a business that fixes up cars and put nice design on them. Also it will rebuild old cars and modernize the interior and rebuild or replace the motor. My dreams cars I hope and would like to obtain are: Aston Martins, Porsches, and BMWs. I also hope that other people would achieve their dreams as well.

Time is Used Wisely or Foolishly

Have you ever notice that the time went by so quickly, but consider this “what have I done in the last few days, hours, etc?” As I looked back for the past few months about what I have done and used my time, I also notice that my time went by quickly; in fact it went by very quickly. I wonder if I used my time wisely or foolishly. Lets go over and see what have I done in the past couple months of my life.

As school finished, it was an exciting day to be free and do anything you name it. In the first month of summer, it was quite a disgusting month. The weather was quite poor and it rained often. I spent most of my time that month indoors. Here is the problem; I have spent lots of time on the videogames, in which I could do something better, such as reading a book. One day I was wondering around the house looking for something to do besides videogames; I saw a book lying on the top of my desk which my mother had given my for a graduation gift. I had promised her that I would start reading it right away, but I didn’t. It made me feel guilty, so I picked up the book and started reading. As I was reading the book, I felt like I was being cleared up and my addiction was fading away.

It turned out that the next month was a beautiful sunny and hot month. I decided to pay my friend a visit and head down to the beach and enjoy the amazing weather outside. Sometimes my friend would start finding excuses such as going to have a shower and shave his chest. I was quite persuasive and it had taken me half an hour to get his butt outside. I asked him if he felt any difference from being inside and outside, anyways; he still spent most of his time inside the house, but he felt much better being outside. As for the video gaming, I didn’t reduce my time that I spent on it. I still continued playing on it for hours, which wasn’t the best idea at all. One day I was invited to go for camping and be a supervisor, I felt like I didn’t want to go and stay home to play on the videogames, eventually; I had to force myself to go have fun at camp. As I was at camp, I felt better, but I was still shaking and craving for the videogames. A day went by and my addiction towards the videogames had started to fade away and I felt more freedom. At the camp I’ve done hiking, canoeing, and the best of all was cliff jumping into the lake. A few days later, after camping at Ruckell Point, I was back to the videogames.

Since I am back to school, I’ve notice that the time went by very quickly. I realized that most of my time I spent was in vain and foolish. Videogames surely takes up our time and it ends up in vain, but it wasn’t worth it.
